TO BE SAVED FROM GOING TO HELL WHEN YOU DIE:
1. OWN UP TO THE FACT THAT YOU ARE A LOST SINNER.
2. YOU AS AN INDIVIDUAL BELIEVE JESUS CHRIST IS THE SON OF GOD, AND ON THE CROSS HE DIED AND PAID FOR ALL YOUR SINS, AND THAT GOD RAISED CHRIST FROM THE DEAD (BELIEVE ON JESUS, HAVE FAITH IN HIS BLOOD, FULLY TRUST IN HIM, BE FULLY PERSUADED).
3. CALL ON THE LORD JESUS CHRIST TO SAVE YOU.
If you do the above three things without true sincerity, it means nothing.
You can not deceive God!

1 Corinthians 12:13: For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
One of the most important duties of the Spirit today is to baptize every person who believes the Gospel of the Grace. Baptism is important today and God has entrusted that work to the Holy Spirit. He is the one who baptizes believers in behalf of God today. He began his ministry when he came into the world in Acts 2. Once Christ baptized the apostles with the Spirit, he began to baptize all believers into Christ.
Every single believer has been baptized by the Spirit of God into the body of Christ, but how many believers know what it means to be baptized by the Holy Spirit? Not many. The devil has done a masterful job in blinding and deceiving believers about Holy Spirit baptism.
The charismatics have distorted Spirit Baptism by equating it with speaking in tongues when it has nothing to do with speaking in tongues. (The charismatics have done more to disgrace the Holy Spirit than any religious group) Most denominational churches ignore Spirit baptism and place their emphasis on water baptism. Water baptism is the main focus of most denominational churches today. Their doctrinal statements say more about water baptism than Spirit baptism. Water baptism even dictates the way they construct their churches. When you walk into most churches your eyes are immediately drawn to the baptismal pool. When they draw up plans to build a church the baptismal pool is the main focus.
Water baptism will get you wet, but it will not change who you are, and what you are, and where you will spend eternity, but Spirit baptism does that and more.
****Holy Spirit Baptism Is For Salvation****
Romans 6:3-7 says; Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
Verse 3 says we were baptized into Jesus Christ. The word into is a preposition and in this verse it describes the motion of an object from one position to another. It describes the motion of an object from the exterior of something into its interior. Before you were saved you were without Christ, but now you are in Christ. But how did you get from the outside to the inside of Christ? The Holy Spirit baptized you into Jesus Christ. The word baptism is a noun, but the word baptized is a verb. A verb shows action and motion. When you were baptized into Jesus Christ an action and motion took place. God took you from your former position outside of Christ and moved you into your present position in Christ.
Only those who are in Christ are saved and the only way you can get into Christ is by baptism. Therefore, the baptism of Romans 6 is saving baptism. It is not an option, it is mandatory for salvation. That is why we believe that baptism saves, BUT IT'S NOT WATER, its Spirit for only the Holy Spirit can baptize you into Christ.
****Holy Spirit Baptism Is For Identification****
The word “into” in Romans 6:3 not only means to pass from the outside of an object into its interior, but it also means to pass from one form or state into another. For example: If I take an ice cube and place it into a bucket of water I am not only moving it from the outside of the bucket to the inside, but I am changing its form and appearance. Outside the bucket it is a solid square object, but inside it becomes a smooth liquid. It takes on the form and identify of what it is placed into. Its identify is changed. It is no longer solid, it becomes liquid.
When the Holy Spirit baptizes a believer into Christ, God changes his identity. You put off your former identity in the flesh and put on Christ's identity. Galatians 3:27 says; For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. To put on Christ is to put on his identity. When you become identified with him, you put off your former identity in the flesh. You are given a new identity. You become a new creature. You are not in the flesh anymore. This shows Romans 6 cannot be water baptism. In water baptism the person who goes under the water is the same one who comes up out of the water. But when a person experiences the baptism of Romans 6 he becomes another person. He becomes a new creature.
****Holy Spirit Baptism Is A Baptism Of Crucifixion****
Romans 6:3 says that those who are baptized into Jesus Christ; were baptized into his death. Verse 5 says for if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death.
By Holy Spirit baptism you become identified with Christ. You become so identified and united with him, that what is said of him becomes true of you. Therefore, when he died, you died with him. When he was buried, you were buried with him. When he was raised, you were raised with him. God now counts Christ's death on the cross as yours. We can now truthfully say that we are crucified, buried and raised with Christ. Why is it so important to be crucified with Christ? Because it is through death that we gain freedom. That brings us to the next point about Holy Spirit baptism.
****Holy Spirit baptism Is A Baptism Of Emancipation****
Romans 6:7 says; He that is dead is freed from sin. It is through death that we gain our freedom from sin.
----Freedom from the penalty of sin is through death.
Romans 6:23 says: For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. This verse says the wages or penalty or punishment of sin is death. Because all have sinned, all have all been sentenced to death. This death is the second death, which is suffering forever in the lake of fire. (Rev. 20:11-14) But, if you have been baptized into Christ you will not receive the wages of your sins. You will escape the penalty and punishment for your sins. You will not suffer the second death. Why? Because those who are baptized into Christ are baptized into his death. His death is counted as ours. When he was crucified we were crucified with him. When sin slew him, it slew us. Having died with Christ, sin cannot condemn us any longer for it has already condemned us when it condemned Christ. For example; When the state executes a man it can no longer condemn him. Death frees him from future condemnation. Through death we gain freedom from the damnation of sin. Jesus Christ stood trial for our sins and was executed for them and because we died with him, the law cannot condemn us again. As far as the law of God is concerned we have been executed for our crimes. Christ death is counted as ours for we were baptized into his death by the Spirit. And you can't punish a man twice for the same crimes.
----Freedom from the power of sin is through death.
Romans 6:7 says; For he that is dead is freed from sin. When the state executes a man he is not only freed from future condemnation, but is freed from the control of the state. As long as he is alive the state controls everything he does while in prison. But, once he dies they have no more control over him. Having died with Christ we are not only freed from sins condemnation, but its power and control also. That is why Paul says; Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. (Rom.6:12) There is a difference between sin and sins. Sin is the root, sins are the fruit. From Romans 1-5 God deals with sins and how Christ paid the penalty of our sins through his death. Those chapters deal with the justification of the believer.
From Romans 6-8 sin, the old nature is dealt with. God shows us what he has done about sin in the believer and how we have victory over sin even though we still have sin dwelling in our bodies.
God knows what a problem we have with sin. That is why he led Paul to write so much about the sin nature in his epistles. God committed to Paul the great doctrines of grace. One of the outstanding blessings of grace is the freedom God gave us from the dominion of sin. Romans 6:14 says; For sin shall not have dominion over you; for ye are not under the law, but under grace. When it comes to sin under grace God has done more for the believer than in any previous age. Under grace we can say that even though sin dwells in our flesh, we are not under dominion to sin, and we do not have to serve sin any longer.
The main purpose of Holy Spirit Baptism in Romans 6 is to free you from the condemnation of sin and from the power of sin.
No other baptism can do this. No other baptism has this kind of power. ALL THAT WATER BAPTISM WILL DO FOR YOU IS GET YOU WET. It cannot free you from the condemnation of sin which is hell. It cannot free you from being a slave to sin. Water baptism is weak and powerless when it comes to sin, whereas Holy Spirit baptism is all powerful. It has power to save sinners from hell and power to change their lives for the better once they are saved.
****Holy Spirit Baptism Is A Baptism Of Unification****
Galatians 3:28-29 says; For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
According to these verses Spirit Baptism erases all barriers between believers. It eliminates all national, racial, sexual and religious advantages. It creates an oneness between all believers. No one has any advantage over another in Christ because of his race, sex, or nation. There is true equality in the body of Christ, which is the result of Spirit Baptism. Today, there is no advantage in being a Jew or disadvantage in being a Gentile. Christ is all, and in all. (Col. 3:11)
In closing, every believer is baptized by the Holy Spirit into Christ the moment they believe the gospel. There is no waiting period or works required. It is an essential part of salvation and no one can be saved without it.
Rejoice in it, and seek to understand it more fully.
One of the most important duties of the Spirit today is to baptize every person who believes the Gospel of the Grace. Baptism is important today and God has entrusted that work to the Holy Spirit. WATER BAPTISM IS NOT FOR TODAY!
Read (Matthew 16:13-19) below.
The rock is not Peter. The rock is the "CONFESSION" about Christ! Peter in not the rock!
"CHRIST" is the rock!
The Roman Catholic Church calls Peter the rock. Later down in Chapter 16 of Matthew, Jesus is calling Peter Satan! The Roman Catholic Church calls Peter their first Pope. Well, Jesus called their first Pope Satan in (Matthew 16:23). And by the way, Peter was married.
Matthew 16:13-19
13 When Jesus came into the coasts of Cæsarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?
14 And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.
15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?
16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Bar-jona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
Take special note of verse 19 above. Then go to Acts Chapter 2.
--------------------
Reference, Peter and all the Apostles.
Acts 2:4
4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Peter stands up in verse 14.
Acts 2:14
14 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judæa, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:
Acts 2:22
22 Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:
Peter is preaching an offer of repentance to Israel after the resurrection of Christ. When Christ was crucified, He prayed, "Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do." This prayer was answered. Israel gets a second chance to receive their Messiah.
Acts 2:37
37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
Now look what Peter tells people to do to be saved in (Acts 2:38).
Acts 2:38
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
This is the response God required in "EARLY" Acts. They had to repent and be baptized.
"(ACTS 2:38), THIS WAS FOR TIME PAST!"
--------------------
OK, moving alone to Acts Chapter 9. Saul (Paul) gets converted.
--------------------
In Acts Chapter 10, Peter goes out to preach to a Gentile names Cornelius and to his house.
Acts 10:43
43 To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.
(THIS SOUNDS LIKE ROMANS 3:26)
When Peter said this, things had changed. Israel had changed with the stoning of Stephen. Israel had started to diminish away. Saul of Tarsus gets saved in Acts Chapter 9. God had opened the door of "FAITH" to the Gentiles, "AFTER" Paul's conversion.
Look at verse 44 below! The Holy Ghost fell on Gentiles!
Acts 10:44
44 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.
--------------------
Years later...
Peter and Paul in Jerusalem have a meeting.
Acts 15:1-5
1 AND certain men which came down from Judæa taught the brethren, and said, Except ye be circumcised after the manner of Moses, ye cannot be saved.
2 When therefore Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and disputation with them, they determined that Paul and Barnabas, and certain other of them, should go up to Jerusalem unto the apostles and elders about this question.
3 And being brought on their way by the church, they passed through Phenice and Samaria, declaring the conversion of the Gentiles: and they caused great joy unto all the brethren.
4 And when they were come to Jerusalem, they were received of the church, and of the apostles and elders, and they declared all things that God had done with them.
5 But there rose up certain of the sect of the Pharisees which believed, saying, That it was needful to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the law of Moses.
"NOW WATCH DILIGENTLY!"
Acts 15:6
6 And the apostles and elders came together for to consider of this matter.
Remember (Matthew 16:19) below! Peter was given authority by Christ. Peter can bind on earth, and it shall be bound in Heaven! Peter can loose on earth and it shall be loosed in Heaven!
Matthew 16:19
19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
UP TO ACTS CHAPTER 10, PETER HAD BEEN PREACHING, "REPENT AND BE BAPTIZED!"
THEN PETER GOES TO CORNELIUS, AND "GOD OPENS FAITH UNTO GENTILES!"
--------------------
Paul's Gospel, for Salvation, your response to God under Grace is, "IS THAT YOU BELIEVE IN JESUS HAVING FAITH IN HIS BLOOD!"
This is a different response than "REPENT AND BE BAPTIZED," which is faith and works.
--------------------
Now look in (Acts 15:6-11) below! Verse 10, the yoke = THE LAW / Verse 11, they = GENTILES
Acts 15:6-11
6 And the apostles and elders came together for to consider of this matter.
7 And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe.
8 And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us;
9 And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.
10 Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?
11 But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they.
Look at verse 11 above! "PETER LOOSES (loosed in Heaven as well) THE REPENT AND BE BAPTIZED" - TO - THE "GRACE OF GOD!"
Salvation now takes place by the Grace of God!
Big transition here. Peter believes Paul's Gospel message!
Paul's message is: "BELIEVE IN JESUS!" "HAVE FAITH IN HIS BLOOD!"
"PAUL WAS NOT SENT TO WATER BAPTIZE!"
--------------------
Acts is a book of progressive revelation. It starts out "PETER," then after Acts Chapter 15, "IT IS ALL PAUL!"
Acts takes place almost over 30 years.
--------------------
Paul was the last person to see Jesus.
1 Corinthians 15:8
8 And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time.
The "CHURCH OF CHRIST" teaches (Acts 2:38) for Salvation today. "THIS IS BIBLICAL, BUT NOT CORRECT FOR TODAY!"
--------------------
As Israel fell in (Acts Chapter 7) and started to diminish away (Romans Chapter 11), "PAUL'S GRACE MESSAGE CAME UP AND OUT UNTO THE WORLD!" Peter agreed with it and changed!
Ephesians 2:8 & 9
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
--------------------
Salvation today is (Romans 3:24-26)!
Romans 3:24-26
24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
--------------------
"I, ROGER LEE BLACK, BELIEVE IN JESUS, HAVE FAITH IN HIS BLOOD, TRUST HIM TOTALLY, AND I AM FULLY PERSUADED!"
I am fully persuaded like Abraham in (Romans 4:21) below!
Romans 4:21
21 And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.

8 And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us;
9 And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.
25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

Rosario DiPeri On Water Baptism
I come across this every now and then from somebody in the modern church system. They try to use the occasion of Peter and Cornelius to justify the 12 preaching the gospel to gentiles. Or, as in the case of the conversation I had yesterday, the person was trying to justify water baptism for believers today.
Despite the many "to the Jews only" verses we see in regard to the 12 Apostles, and despite the fact that Peter did not visit Cornelius until approximately 15 years AFTER Pentecost in Acts 2:38. Which begs the question, how is it that Peter finds himself in Cornelius' house, and does not know why he is there? What has he been doing for 15 years? Maybe just preaching to Jews?
The water baptism of Cornelius was a clear sign to Israel that God had changed the program, NOT that He was sending the 12 (little flock) to minister to the Gentiles. In fact, it was on the basis of Peter's experience with Cornelius that Paul's ministry to the gentiles was recognized and validated by the church in Jerusalem.
Check it out Acts 15:7!
Acts 15:7
7 And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe.
7 And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe.
A great preacher once said, "Never try to take your doctrine from the book of Acts. You'll get all screwed up!" And he was right. Acts is a book of the "ACTS" of the Apostles during the transition from Christ's Earthly ministry, to the Jews through the 12, to Christ's Heavenly ministry, to the world through Paul.
In Acts 10 and 11, God was preparing the 12 Apostles, and the Jews who believed Christ was the Messiah, for the dispensation program change. Peter didn't tell Cornelius to believe that Christ died for his sins, he preached the kingdom gospel, that Jesus was Christ, Israel's Messiah, and God raised Him from the dead.
Cornelius believed in God, and blessed Israel which was in accord with the Abraham covenant. He also was baptized with the Holy Ghost, as Peter said the Holy Ghost fell on them in the beginning, but Peter didn't know whether to water baptize them, which was different. Water baptism was part of the sanctification ceremony for priests in the Old Testament, and Israel was being prepared to be a kingdom of priests for ministry to the Gentiles in the Millennium. So, should Cornelius be water baptized? Peter knew the Lord forbid them in Matthew 10 from going to the Gentiles, which is why Peter refused to kill and eat. Peter didn't know yet, that the apostate nation of Israel was fallen, and was reckoned among the Gentiles.
This topic is close to my heart. I have posted many articles on the evils of water baptism, and the harm it has done. But some people just do not get it. They cling to their traditions, and religious teachers instead of reading what the Bible says.
The devil has used the religion of Judeo-Christian, the mixing of Israel's covenant program with Paul's grace gospel to drag millions of souls into Hell. Try wrapping your mind around that horror. I see many people who feel they are saved, not because of Christ's work on the cross, but because they were water baptized.
Those of you who belong to "churches systems", no matter what denominational flavor you have chosen, you know what I'm saying is the truth.
I ask people all the time, "Are you saved?" "If you died right now, would you go to Heaven?" And one of the top answers I get is... "I was baptized!" (Meaning water baptized.) If you ask church people if they are saved, many, if not most, think of their water baptism experience. A work that they did, as opposed to the work Christ did.
Water baptism today is a distraction from the devil. It is a hindrance to preaching the glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 1:17
17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.
17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.
WHY DID THE APOSTLE PAUL WATER BAPTIZE SOME PEOPLE?
A person writes:
"My Church has water baptism because Paul water baptized some people."
Let's take a look at how Paul viewed water baptism!
Paul did minister to some Jews.
1 Corinthians 9:20
20 And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law;
20 And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law;
Most of the recorded baptisms in Paul’s early ministry were among Jews and proselytes. See (Acts 16:14-15), and (Acts 18:7-8) below.
Acts 16:14-15
14 And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, which worshipped God, heard us: whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul.
15 And when she was baptized, and her household, she besought us, saying, If ye have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house, and abide there. And she constrained us.
Acts 18:7-8
7 And he departed thence, and entered into a certain man'shouse, named Justus, one that worshipped God, whose house joined hard to the synagogue.
8 And Crispus, the chief ruler of the synagogue, believed on the Lord with all his house; and many of the Corinthians hearing believed, and were baptized.
Paul circumcised Timothy, according to the law, because of the Jews which were in those quarters!
Acts 16:3
3 Him would Paul have to go forth with him; and took and circumcised him because of the Jews which were in those quarters: for they knew all that his father was a Greek.
3 Him would Paul have to go forth with him; and took and circumcised him because of the Jews which were in those quarters: for they knew all that his father was a Greek.
Paul took a vow in Jerusalem for the same reason (because of the Jews which were in those quarters). See (Acts 21:21-24) below.
Acts 21:21-24
21 And they are informed of thee, that thou teachest all the Jews which are among the Gentiles to forsake Moses, saying that they ought not to circumcise their children, neither to walk after the customs.
22 What is it therefore? the multitude must needs come together: for they will hear that thou art come.
23 Do therefore this that we say to thee: We have four men which have a vow on them;
24 Them take, and purify thyself with them, and be at charges with them, that they may shave their heads: and all may know that those things, whereof they were informed concerning thee, are nothing; but that thou thyself also walkest orderly, and keepest the law.
21 And they are informed of thee, that thou teachest all the Jews which are among the Gentiles to forsake Moses, saying that they ought not to circumcise their children, neither to walk after the customs.
22 What is it therefore? the multitude must needs come together: for they will hear that thou art come.
23 Do therefore this that we say to thee: We have four men which have a vow on them;
24 Them take, and purify thyself with them, and be at charges with them, that they may shave their heads: and all may know that those things, whereof they were informed concerning thee, are nothing; but that thou thyself also walkest orderly, and keepest the law.
Do you see what's going on here?
Paul is doing JEWISH type things because he is trying to minister to some of his Jewish brethren. Also, Paul wants to show support for the ministry of Peter, and the other Apostles who are ministering to the Jewish people.
Even though his message to the Gentiles is a different message. Both messages are RIGHT!
Peters message was to the circumcision, which was DIMINISHING.
Paul's message is to the uncircumcised. TO ALL THE WORLD!
There are many reasons why Paul would baptize, but the more important question concerning the place of baptism for us today would be:
1. Why would Paul STOP baptizing?
2. Why did Paul not baptize ALL?
2. Why did Paul not baptize ALL?
Take a look at (1 Corinthians 1:14) and (1 Corinthians 1:17) below.
1 Corinthians 1:14
14 I thank God that I baptized none of you, but Crispus and Gaius;
14 I thank God that I baptized none of you, but Crispus and Gaius;
Now, John the Baptist, baptized ALL, in his ministry to ISRAEL.
The Lord commanded his twelve apostles to teach the law and baptize all nations (Matthew 28:19-20).
Matthew 28:19-20
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Peter’s message was, “Repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ!” See (Acts 2:38) below.
Acts 2:38
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
When Paul says Christ sent me not to baptize in (1 Corinthians 1:17) above, he is confessing that he was not following (Matthew Chapter 28) or (Mark Chapter 16) in his ministry, nor was he baptizing under the same command given to Peter.
Though the Apostle Paul baptized some, he did not baptize all, because he was sent to preach THE GLORY OF THE CROSS, and the Lord told him baptism would make the cross of none effect.
Paul did not keep the law for justification, nor did he baptize to obey the Lord. He used his liberty to help minister THE GOSPEL OF GRACE to both Jews and Gentiles.
Paul spends his whole ministry making all men see the fellowship of this mystery, and doesn’t give a single instruction about water baptism. "UNDER THE GRACE OF GOD, WATER BAPTISM IS NOT REQUIRED!"
So, in light of this, I really cannot see any reason why a Church today that claims to be following Paul's GOSPEL OF GRACE TO THE WORLD, as opposed to Peter's message to the Jews, would see fit to adopt the "sacrament" of water baptism.
So, why did the Apostle Paul baptize some people?
Paul was a Jew, ALSO ministering to Jews. Baptism was originally a part of the Jewish conversion practice. Besides ministering to Gentiles, Paul also ministered to Jews. Paul did this as an example that he supported the ministry of Peter. The Apostle Paul's message to the Gentiles, is distinctly different than Peter's message to the Jews.
Why did Paul STOP baptizing?
Paul was sent to THE GENTILES with THE GOSPEL OF GRACE, without works. Baptism of course, is a work. The Lord sent Paul not to baptize, but to preach the gospel, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect. Read (1 Corinthians 1:17) again below.
You may ask, "But wasn't water baptism one of the ordinances Paul gave to us Gentiles?"
Paul stated to follow him, even as he also is of Christ. Paul delivered ordinances to us, and asked us to keep them.
1 Corinthians 11:1
1 Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.
1 Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.
1 Corinthians 11:2
2 Now I praise you, brethren, that ye remember me in all things, and keep the ordinances, as I delivered them to you.
2 Now I praise you, brethren, that ye remember me in all things, and keep the ordinances, as I delivered them to you.
What were the ordinances Paul delivered?
In Acts Chapter 15, we learn that some of the Jewish believers wanted Paul's Gentile believers to keep the Jewish laws and customs.
Paul and Barnabas went up to Jerusalem to meet with the Jewish elders about this, and to settle the matter once and for all.
Acts 15:5
5 But there rose up certain of the sect of the Pharisees which believed, saying, That it was needful to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the law of Moses.
5 But there rose up certain of the sect of the Pharisees which believed, saying, That it was needful to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the law of Moses.
Acts 15:6
6 And the apostles and elders came together for to consider of this matter.
6 And the apostles and elders came together for to consider of this matter.
After Paul presents his case, the decision of the Jerusalem elders was:
Acts 15:19-20
19 Wherefore my sentence is, that we trouble not them, which from among the Gentiles are turned to God:
20 But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood.
19 Wherefore my sentence is, that we trouble not them, which from among the Gentiles are turned to God:
20 But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood.
These are the ordinances Paul refers to in (1 Corinthians 11:2).
They all have to do with Temple idol worship which was rampant in the city of Corinth at the time.
We are complete in Christ!
Christ did all the work for us! We are SAVED by our faith and trust in The Lord Jesus Christ!
Ephesians 2:8-9
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Now read the verses from Colossians below.
Colossians 2:10-12
10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:
11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:
12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
Since The Lord Jesus Christ did all the work for us, there is only ONE BAPTISM for us today!
Ephesians 4:5
5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
For us today, that one baptism is not in water!
1 Corinthians 12:13
13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
Colossians 2:12
12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
Once we trust Christ, and have complete faith in HIM, we are complete IN HIM! There is nothing else that needs to be done for your SALVATION!
Ephesians 1:13
13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
Colossians 2:13-14
13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
Friends, I really hope you will consider these things and come to a realization of just how dangerous water baptism is. Water baptism is the LYNCH PIN that the modern Churches use to put people back under THE LAW. The law of ordinances, confessing sins, tithing, emotional altar calls, Acts Chapter 2 doctrine, and speaking in tongues. THIS ALL TO GLORIFY THE FLESH.
It is not YOU that does the work for Salvation, JESUS THE CHRIST did all the work for us!
You can not say to God, "Look at me, look what I did for you." This is the false doctrine and the way of Cain.
God provided us the perfect sacrifice, The Lord Jesus Christ!
We should all be saying, "Thank you Father for what YOU did for ME!"
We must get people to stop looking at themselves,
and to stay focused on looking at The Cross of Christ.
and to stay focused on looking at The Cross of Christ.
JESUS CHRIST PAID FOR ALL YOUR SINS, AND PAID FOR ALL MY SINS!
The Apostle Paul Stated in (Galatians 6:14), "But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world."
Romans 3:24-26
24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
1 Corinthians 15:1-4
1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
Friends, I really hope you will prayerfully examine these things. Time is short. There are so many thousands of lost people who need to understand that Jesus Christ did all the work on THE CROSS for the Salvation of YOU, as well as the Salvation for ME!
