ALL VERSES FROM THE KING JAMES HOLY BIBLE!
2 Corinthians 12:14-15
14 Behold, the third time I am ready to come to you; and I will not be burdensome to you: for I seek not yours, but you: for the children ought not to lay up for the parents, but the parents for the children.
15 And I will very gladly spend and be spent for you; though the more abundantly I love you, the less I be loved.
Paul’s pattern in Ministry, and in receiving gifts for Ministry, should be followed.
Paul never asked for money to do his own ministry for the Lord. When he did ask for money, it was for others (2 Corinthians 8:9 and Romans 15:26). Paul never begged or required money so that the gospel would not be hindered, so neither should any Grace Church (1 Corinthians 9:12). Though he never asked, he did receive gifts when they were the product of grace doctrine working in the giver:
2 CorInthians 8:9
9 For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.
Romans 15:26
26 For it hath pleased them of Macedonia and Achaia to make a certain contribution for the poor saints which are at Jerusalem.
1 Corinthians 9:12
12 If others be partakers of this power over you, are not we rather? Nevertheless we have not used this power; but suffer all things, lest we should hinder the gospel of Christ.
Philippians 4:17
17 Not because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account.
Unlike some mega-ministries and prosperity panderers, the above Grace Churches have no grand plans for retiring on a beach doing “missionary work” with your money.
It would be a greater blessing to see you grow in the knowledge of the truth and start serving the Lord with your own ministry.
2 Timothy 2:2
2 And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.
The above Churches do not desire your gold, but your service to the Lord with the right heart, speaking the right message, and that from the right Bible, rightly divided (Acts 20:33-35).
Acts 20:33-35
33 I have coveted no man’s silver, or gold, or apparel.
34 Yea, ye yourselves know, that these hands have ministered unto my necessities, and to them that were with me.
35 I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.
If you’ve been duped by so-called ministries that promise you a blessing if you give money or tithe to your local church, then please stop now!
If you have purposed in your heart to give graciously to any of the above ministries, please continue in the spirit of (2 Corinthians 9:7 and Philippians 4:17 & 18).
2 Corinthians 9:7
7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.
Philippians 4:17-18
17 Not because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account.
18 But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received of Epaphroditus the things which were sent from you, an odour of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, wellpleasing to God.
