THE SIN OF SODOMY - WOE TO ANYONE WHO DEFENDS IT

When I came up in the 1940-60’s sodomites were a shame and a disgrace. They were condemned by most members of society. There were actually laws against sodomy. Most people avoided them. Most sodomites kept their perversions a secret for they knew it was wrong. If a school teacher or politician was identified as a sodomite it was a major scandal. They were fired or impeached. No one hired sodomites or wanted them around their children. Preachers preached against the sodomites and most people considered them an abomination to God. But today it is just the reverse.

The sodomites and their supporters in Hollywood and Washington DC created a PR system that has deceived millions of people into believing that being a sodomite is just another alternative life style among many others. They have deceived people into believing that sodomites are born not made and they can't help being a sodomite. They have deceived people into believing they should have the same respect as straight people. They are proud of being sodomites. They flaunt their sins. They have special laws protecting them. Today the government protects and defends them. The shame and disgrace has been removed. Sodomites are openly hired as school teachers, politicians, priests, preachers, doctors, lawyers, and judges.

If you criticize them you can lose your job and even go to jail in some countries. If you speak out against them, they will accuse you of hate speech. They are now welcomed into the military. They have tremendous power in Washington and in Hollywood. Businesses use them to advertise their products. They have their own TV and radio channels. Young people have been deceived into thinking that sodomites are cool, and many have become sodomites themselves. Public (government) Schools defend and promote sodomy and so does the government and many churches. (The Roman Catholic Church admits that many of it’s priests are sodomites)

But what saith the scriptures? Has God changed his mind about the sin of sodomy? Does he consider them to be just another life style? Does God tell us to receive them into our fellowship and to ordain them as preachers? Does God condemn those who speak out against sodomy? The answer is simple: God hasn’t changed his mind at all about the sodomites. His attitude toward them today is the same as it ever was in the Old and New Testament scriptures.

In the Old Testament scripture of Deuteronomy 23:17 God said: There shall be no whore of the daughters of Israel, nor a sodomite of the sons of Israel.

In Leviticus 20:13 he said: If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

Notice that sodomites are called an abomination to God. They were such an abomination to God that he punished them with death. Sodomy was a capital crime punishable by death. The sodomites that people and the government defend, promote, and protect today are an abomination to God. This can be seen in how he punished them with death under the Law of Moses.

Some will say this was true only under the Law of Moses, but he also destroyed them years before the Law was given to Moses. Jude 1:7 says; Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. This verse in Jude refers to the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah in Genesis 19 years before the Law was given to Moses. It says in Genesis 19:24-25; Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven; And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground.

If you want to know what God thinks about sodomites take a long look at Genesis 19. This settles the issue. They are an abomination to God. They are so repulsive to him that he destroyed 1000’s of them supernaturally by fire from heaven in the first book of the Bible and executed 1000’s more by stoning under the Law of Moses.

Under New Testament Grace, God has not changed his mind about sodomites. In Romans 1:24-28 Paul wrote: Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient.

*These verses are important for they define what is natural and unnatural when it comes to sex. Men by nature are attracted to women and women by nature are attracted to men. Natural affections are sexual affections for the opposite sex. Unnatural affections are sexual affections for the same sex. Sexual affections for the same sex are a perversion of what is natural. That is why God says its âgainst nature.

*Natural desires are God given for the purpose of reproduction. Sodomites do not reproduce; all they can do is recruit and today their target is your children.

*Sodomy is not caused by physical defects in the flesh. It is the result of giving into the lusts of the flesh. By nature men and women are attracted to the opposite sex. Those who are attracted to the same sex go against the natural desires of the flesh. People do not become sodomites by birth or accident or genes. It is a moral defect produced by vile affections and lusts. If men and women were born sodomites, God would have been unjust in destroying Sodom and Gomorrah in Genesis 19. But God was just in destroying them because they became filthy, perverted, immoral enemies of God and nature. They burned in their lusts toward one another and God in turn burned them to the ground.

*The sin of sodomy causes death and disease to the body. Verse 27 says that sodomites: Receive in themselves that just recompense of their error. This tells us that sodomy is suicide. Albert Barnes wrote; The meaning of this statement (Romans 1:27) is, that the effect of such base and unnatural passions was, to enfeeble the body, to produce premature old age, disease, decay, and an early death. God frowns upon the sin of sodomy and since the time of the Romans and the Greeks, he has originated a new disease, which is one of the most loathsome and distressing which has ever afflicted man, and which has swept off millions of victims. Albert Barnes wrote this in the 1800’s. What he describes sounds like what we call AIDS today. Disease and death is the consequence of the sin of sodomy. It weakens and kills the bodies of those who practice this sin. AIDS is the penalty of the sin of sodomy and it has killed millions in our day.

*God gives sodomites up. Two times in these verses it says; God gave them up. Any person who is tempted to commit this sin should be warned that when they do God will give them up which is the worst thing God can do to anyone. All men, women, children and nations should be warned about the serious consequences of this sin. And woe to any people or nation that defends and protects this sin!

*God commends those who stand against the sin of sodomy. 1 Kings 15:11 says this about Asa the king: And Asa did that which was right in the eyes of the LORD, as did David his father. And he took away the sodomites out of the land, and removed all the idols that his fathers had made. Notice that God said he did right when he took away the sodomites out of the land.

1 Kings 22:45 says this about Jehoshaphat who was one of the good kings of Judah: And the remnant of the sodomites, which remained in the days of his father Asa, he took out of the land. Even though his father Asa drove the sodomites out some still remained (in the closet) but they were finally and completely driven out by Jehoshaphat and God commends him for doing so.

2 Kings 23 records one of the greatest revivals in the history of the nation of Israel which took place in the days of Josiah the king. Among the many good things he did it says: And he brake down the houses of the sodomites, that were by the house of the LORD, where the women wove hangings for the grove. A great revival broke out when they ran the sodomites out. All three of these kings were commended for driving the sodomites out of the land, for they polluted the land as long as they remained in the land.

*God commands us to purge sodomites out of the church. In 1 Corinthians 5:11-13 Paul said: But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, (including fornication with the same sex) or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat. For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within? But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.

Any preacher who will not preach against the sin of sodomy or says we should invite them into the church ought to be thrown out of the church himself. Any so called Christian who gets mad at preachers or other Christians who condemn sodomites are sodomites themselves or deceived and blinded and taken captive by the devil.

*The sin of sodomy causes nations to fall and be destroyed. In 2 Peter 2:6 he wrote that God: Turned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly. This is a warning of what God will do to CITIES like Sodom and Gomorrah. What God did to the CITIES of Sodom and Gomorrah were an example of what he will do to other CITIES and NATIONS that condone the sin of sodomy. Any nation that defends, protects and promotes the sin of sodomy is inviting the wrath of God upon itself. Sodomy is not a victimless crime or sin. It is a sin that jeopardizes cities and nations and all of us. (See also Ezekiel 16:47-51, 1 Kings 14:24)

*The sin of sodomy is condemned by God in both testaments. If God has condemned it, then so should we. You are never wrong in condemning what God condemns. If God calls sodomites an abomination and reprobates so should we. If God commends those who speak out against sodomites we should also.

In recent years I have seen bad things happen to people who defend sodomites. When you take sides with them you are taking sides against God. Nothing good ever happens to people who take sides against God. They always lose.
