PAUL THE KINGDOM PREACHER; PETER THE GRACE PREACHER Pastor Art Watkins of Coden Bible Church (Coden, Alabama) August 26, 2015 For years we have heard these extreme dispensationalists say that, Paul preached the grace of God and Peter preached the Kingdom of God. They call Paul the grace preacher and Peter the kingdom preacher. People who make such statements are ignorant of the word of God. The fact is, Paul preached and wrote more about the Kingdom of God than Peter and Peter preached and wrote about the grace of God as much as Paul. Read for yourself: ****Paul The Kingdom Preacher**** Acts 14:22: (Paul) Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God. Acts 19:8: And he went into the synagogue, and spake boldly for the space of three months, disputing and persuading the things concerning the kingdom of God. Acts 20:25: And now, behold, I know that ye all, among whom I have gone preaching the kingdom of God, shall see my face no more. Acts 28:23: And when they had appointed him a day, there came many to him into his lodging; to whom he expounded and testified the kingdom of God, persuading them concerning Jesus, both out of the law of Moses, and out of the prophets, from morning till evening. Acts 28:31: Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him. ----No other apostle preached as much about the kingdom of God as Paul. Paul’s Epistles Romans 14:17: For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. 1 Corinthians 4:20: For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power. 1 Corinthains 6:9-10: Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. 1 Corinthians 15:24: Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. 1 Corinthians 15:50: Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. Galatians 5:21: Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. Ephesians 5:5: For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Colossians 1:13: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: Colossians 4:11: And Jesus, which is called Justus, who are of the circumcision. These only are my fellowworkers unto the kingdom of God, which have been a comfort unto me. 1 Thessalonians 2:12: That ye would walk worthy of God, who hath called you unto his kingdom and glory. 2 Thessalonians 1:5: Which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer: 2 Timothy 4:1: I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; 2 Timothy 4:18: And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. ----No other apostle wrote as much about the kingdom of God as Paul. ****Peter The Grace Preacher**** Peter said in Acts 15:10-11: Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke (The law) upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear? But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they. 1 Peter 3:7 Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered. 4:10 As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. 5:5 Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. 5:10 But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. 5:12 By Silvanus, a faithful brother unto you, as I suppose, I have written briefly, exhorting, and testifying that this is the true grace of God wherein ye stand. 2 Peter 1:2: Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, 2 Peter 3:18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen Peter wrote as much about the grace of God as Paul. He said that both Jews and gentiles are saved by grace through faith without the law. He said he was a good steward of the manifold grace of God. He instructed the saints to grow in the knowledge of grace. He said the saints have a standing in grace and he identified the true grace of God. What does all this mean? Simply put, both Paul and Peter preached the same grace of God and the same kingdom of God. In Acts 20 Paul preached the kingdom of God at the same time he preached the gospel of grace. Acts 20:24-24: But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God. And now, behold, I know that ye all, among whom I have gone preaching the kingdom of God, shall see my face no more. Both Paul and Peter preached the kingdom of God at the same time they preached salvation by grace, because the kingdom of God is the inheritance a believer receives when he believes the gospel of grace. Part of the mystery of Ephesians 3:6 is that gentiles are now fellow heirs with the Jews to an inheritance in the kingdom of God by faith alone in the gospel. Every believer will one day live in the coming kingdom of God and that is why God sent all the prophets and apostles and us too, to preach the kingdom of God when we preach the gospel of grace. And one other thing: the only alternative to the kingdom of God in the future is the lake of fire. Hyper dispensationalists will never tell you these things because of their false theories about the kingdom of God and the gospel Peter and Paul preached. They will have you to believe that Peter preached the kingdom of God and not Paul, when in fact Paul preached and wrote about it 10 times more than Peter! Paul mentions the kingdom of God 14 times in his epistles, but Peter mentions it just ONCE! Hyper dispensationalists will also have you to believe that Paul preached salvation by grace at the same time Peter preached salvation by works when in fact Peter said: Acts 15:10-11: Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke (The Law) upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear? But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they. Who are you going to believe? The King James Bible or these hyper dispensationalists?
