PAUL PREACHED THE SAME KINGDOM THAT CHRIST, THE PROPHETS, AND THE OTHER APOSTLES PREACHED! Pastor Art Watkins of Coden Bible Church (Coden, Alabama) February 9, 2015 Romans 14:17: For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. Some hyper dispensationalists use this verse to try and prove Paul did not preach the literal, physical, earthly kingdom of God that Jesus and the prophets and other apostles preached, but some spiritual, cosmic, invisible kingdom of God. But this verse simply defines the nature or character of the coming physical, earthly kingdom of God. Those who enter into the coming kingdom of God are righteous, because the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God according to 1 Corinthians 6:9. In the coming kingdom of God there is joy for God: shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away according to Revelation 21:4. In the coming kingdom of God there will be peace for: they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more according to Isaiah 2:4 and, Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this. (Isaiah 9:6)
