JOSEPH PRINCE VERSUS THE APOSTLE PAUL Pastor Art Watkins of Coden Bible Church (Coden, Alabama) December 5, 2015 Joseph Prince is one of the new Asian super stars among the charismatic’s. He says his doctrine and preaching is influenced by fellow charismatics like Kenneth Hagin, Kenneth Copeland, and Joel Olsten. This is what he says about those who believe the gospel today in his book; Destined to Reign: When you believe the gospel of Jesus, which is based entirely on His grace, it will result in health and prosperity. In fact, the gospel of Jesus Christ leads to blessings, success, healing, restoration, protection, financial breakthroughs, security, peace, wholeness, and MUCH MORE!". But what did the apostle Paul say about those who believe the gospel? Does he agree with Joseph Prince? What saith the scriptures? Paul said in Acts 14:22: Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God. 2 Timothy 3:10-12: But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience, Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me. Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. Philippians 1:29: For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake; 1Timothy 6:7-11: For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. 2 Corinthians 6:3-5: Giving no offence in any thing, that the ministry be not blamed: But in all things approving ourselves as the ministers of God, in much patience, in afflictions, in necessities, in distresses, In stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labours, in watchings, in fastings; 2 Corinthians 12:7-10: And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong. 1 Timothy 5:23: Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach's sake and thine often infirmities. 2 Timothy 4:20: Erastus abode at Corinth: but Trophimus have I left at Miletum sick. It looks like the health, wealth and prosperity gospel preached by charismatic’s like Prince, Hagin, Copeland, and Olsten did not work out to well for Paul did it? As a matter of fact, all of the apostles were persecuted, beaten, imprisoned, impoverished, and were all murdered except for maybe John. Don’t be fooled by Joseph Prince. He is just another in a long list of lying, false teachers in the charismatic movement.
